Chandubi Lake located just 65 KM from Guwahati town at the foot of Garo hills surrounded by Assam and Meghalaya. A earthquake born Chandubi natural lake is blessed with rich flora and Fauna. The place is calm and peaceful covered by deep forest ,tea garden and small and distinct village. Chandubi has covered a total number of 2000 hectors of land. Chandubi is a pour and less polluted Lake.The chief feature of the lake is natural lagoon that has been formed in the lake.Chandubi lake is the home to large number of aquatic plants. The lake also holds the exotic wild life. This lake attracts sieble amount of migratory birds during winters.
So that, according to the syllabus we decided to visit Chandubi Lake with our Students of BA 2nd Semester Dakshin Kamrup Girls’ College Mira on the date of
Outcome: The students of BA 2nd semester carried out the field visit to Chandubi Lake to Study the eco system of water body which is created as a result of a strong earthquake. Teacher from the college accompanied the students to the place and concerned teacher of the Environmental Studies explained the rich biodiversity of the area to the students. Later the students submitted detailed field study report based on their observation and findings.

All students of BA 2nd Semester , Major and General Courses are required to undertake a Field Work for the Environment Studies Paper where they have to undertake some of the following activities-
•Visit to an area to document environmental assets: river/forest/flora/fauna, etc
•Visit to a local polluted site - Urban/Rural/Industrial/Agricultural.
•Study of common plants, insects, birds and basic principles of identification.
•Study of simple ecosystems- pond, river, and stream
