Program Outcomes (POs)
Apart from expertise in respective fields, B. A student is imbibed with the realization of human values, becomes a responsible and dutiful citizen, has a sense of social service, and develops a critical temper and creative ability. Upon completion of the B.A. Degree Programme, the graduate will be able to:
PO1. Understand and analyze the fundamental concept of economics and economic behaviour in practice.
PO2. Equip and learn the economic practices for local, national, and international needs.
PO3. Perform basic quantitative analysis using tools appropriate for the program.
PO4. Demonstrate an understanding of the basic functioning of the national and global economy PO5. Apply supply and demand analysis to examine the impact of government regulation.
PO6. Understand the circular flow model and use the concepts of aggregate demand and aggregate supply to analyze the response of the economy to disturbances.
1.2. Programme-Specific Outcomes (PSOs) The student understands the basic concepts in Economics and can apply them in the real world. He or she is also updated with the recent trends in the subjects. The student also builds a sound base for various post-graduate courses in Economics and related fields.

Department of Economics of Dakshin Kamrup Girls' College, Mirza organised a One Day Workshop on Basic Internet and Email on 21-06-2023 at the computer lab of the college. it was a day long programme from 10 AM to 4 PM followed by a Lunch Break from 1 to 2 PM. there were 47 numbers of participants along with some faculty members of the institution. The workshop was conducted by MR Manjit Kalita, Instructor Compupter Lab on basic internet seacrch and email communication. the participants are highly benefitted through the programme.

The students also came to know about the functioning of SHG, how they collect money from each member ,and the procedure to sanction loan to the members, provision of fine for not attending SHG meeting etc.On the basis of the survey , our students prepared report where the problems faced by SHG, purpose of taking loan and its uses,etc are mentioned.

Minakshi Tahkuria, Employee of Assam Gramin Vikash Bank and Alumnae of Dakshin Kamrup Girls' College, Mirza was the resource person of the programme. The Resource person provided the syllabus and the study materials for the banking examination. She also provided some online resource material to students for the banking examination. She mainly spoke about the mental preparedness of the students for the banking examination. total 52 students participated in the counselling progrmamme.

DEPARTMENT OF Economics organized an one day educational tour to one of the famous tourist place of South Kamrup, ‘HOHUA” and also to a famous religious cum tourist attraction Samaria Satra on January 2022. Four of our faculties and 22 students participate in the day long programme. The objective of the programme was to make the students aware about the tourist places of South Kamrup, and what steps can be taken to increase tourist flow in these places without damaging ecological balances.
Students were asked to collect data and evidences related to environmental economics paper and tourism potential of the places .In Samaria Satra the students saw the original hand written religious script of Vaishnava religion of Mahapurush Sri Sri Sankardeva.

There almost all household are engaged in this industry and the entire process is carried out with hand by using very small machinery if necessary. In order to give an exposure to this industry and to give the students an opportunity to understand the entire process of the industry , the Dept of Economics organized a field visit to Hajo in Kamrup district on 09.02.2021 , so that he students can learn the entire process of making different items ( from day to day utensils to decorative items). We visited the several houses where the household members are engaged in this industry and the students saw the process of making different items from raw materials ti finished products. We also try to understand their problems and scope of marketing their products its future prospects etc.

Prof Indrani Devi and Dr Manashree Das delivered spoke about the necessity of spending economically, habit of saving from day to day spending, benefit of small savings, and different govt. schemes available for small savings and micro savings facilities. The students present joined in the interactive session and try to clarify their doubt about thrift and showed interest to grow the habit of small saving by avoiding unnecessary spending also to spread the message to their family so that spending economically may lead to small savings and can help their families to a great extent in times of necessity.
